I've found that the best place to get crafting supplies from at reasonable prices is The Range. They have a lot of products for only £1, which is enough to make me as excited as a child on Christmas morning! I quite often fall victim to picking 'a few' things up because they are only £1, to then find out I've spent quite a lot! Everything I bought in this shopping trip only cost me £1 :)
Mixed colour bags of butterflies and flowers. I've got quite the collection of flowery embellishments now.
Pink and blue self adhesive ribbons. I love using self adhesive ribbon because it is so easy to apply and can hide any badly cut edges of photos etc.
Finding these stamps is like finding a needle in a haystack! At The Range, there is a big bin of stamps for £1 so you have to be patient to find things worth buying. I picked up a heart shaped bunting one, and a flowers and hearts stamp.
I have quite a lot of 6"x6" papers but I couldn't resist these bright colours and patterns for £1. I picked up the white and baby blue polka dot ribbon because I loved the colours, and the Minnie Mouse ribbon is for a Disney themed scrapbook page that I have planned to do.
We met up with my cousin Dave and his daughters yesterday and fun was had by all! Well, most of us had fun. The girls have grown up so much since I last saw them and this time they were both very chatty and didn't stop to sit down the entire time!
Alyssa found the fallen apples from our apple tree and wanted to make apple pie.
Sierra loved playing on the trampoline!
Apple pie wasn't going to work so they made apple sauce instead.
The apple sauce got the seal of approval from Sierra.
Alyssa wasn't too thrilled with the wasp that was lured over by the sweet smells.
Dave wasn't as convinced that it tasted good!
The girls then managed to get my sister Katie to give them piggy backs on the trampoline.
I think we all enjoyed the afternoon and agreed we need cousin time much more often :)
Amidst the chaos that has been the last two weeks (parents away and working extra hours alongside completing the final paperwork for my Level 2 Gymnastics coaching qualification), I've found the time to do a bit of crafting. I'm mostly working on my special project, which I will post pictures of by the end of the month, but I made a birthday card this week.
It's fun and colourful, bright and cheerful. It's not the best card I've ever made, but I'll admit I didn't really have a plan for it going into it do just played with colours and embellishments until I had something passable. I love the layered flowers and the colour scheme, but I'm annoyed at the lack of birthday embellishments I own which resulted in my shameful attempt to make the balloons. Anyways, I think I'm happy with the final product purely because the colours make me smile :)
